I have been making art using memories and feelings from dreams and my life and childhood.  Turtles, fish and other natural images continue to inspire me.  I love painting and looking into an imaginary world.  This is part of a series I’m working on about the language of clams.  The characters in the piece are derived from shapes on the shell of Lioconcha hieroglyphica, a South Pacific Clam.  It looks like writing and made me wonder what their language would look like, or feel like (happy of course). This image is made from acrylic crackle paste, paint, gels and glazes with gold acrylic appliqués made with a stencil from the shapes on the clamshell.
