{"id":3137,"date":"2010-10-18T20:02:18","date_gmt":"2010-10-19T01:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.edbockeditions.com\/?p=3137"},"modified":"2010-10-18T21:08:25","modified_gmt":"2010-10-19T02:08:25","slug":"inside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.edbockeditions.com\/index.php\/blog\/inside\/","title":{"rendered":"Inside"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_3136\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.edbockeditions.com\/index.php\/fusionnee-images\/figurative\/inside\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3136\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3136 \" title=\"Inside\" src=\"http:\/\/www.edbockeditions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Inside-450\u00a9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.edbockeditions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Inside-450\u00a9.jpg 450w, http:\/\/www.edbockeditions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Inside-450\u00a9-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3136\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Inside<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This image is from figure studies done in 1985 and a painted image created in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>When I first started showing my work a friend was confused and kept calling the images <em>Gicl\u00e9e <\/em>images which wasn\u2019t true, I was making<em> Gicl\u00e9e <\/em>prints of my images. \u00a0I realized it might be clearer if I had a name for the style of image I was making at that time.\u00a0 So I coined the term <em>Fusionn\u00e9e <\/em><em>Image\u00ae<\/em> to describe a style of image created by blending or fusing a photographic image with a painted image to produce a fused reality of image.\u00a0<em>Fusionn\u00e9e<\/em> (pronounced \u201cfusion-ay\u201d) in French means fused.<\/p>\n<p>Simply put Fusionn\u00e9e Image\u00ae is a style of image making and <em>Gicl\u00e9e <\/em>is a printing method.<\/p>\n<p><em>Gicl\u00e9e<\/em> is a term used to describe fine art prints produced by inkjet printing technology, much the way the term serigraph is used to describe a fine art image printed by silkscreen printing technology.\u00a0<em>Gicl\u00e9e<\/em> (pronounced \u201czhee-clay\u201d) in French means sprayed or squirted. Some call these prints by various names such as \u201coriginal digital prints,\u201d \u201cinkjet prints,\u201d \u201cpigment prints,\u201d \u201cpigment dispersion on canvas\u201d and \u201carchival ink-jet on paper\u201d. I\u2019m sure the list of names will continue to grow as artists try to define what they do in a way that works for them.<\/p>\n<p>I like to use the word\u00a0<em>Gicl\u00e9e<\/em> because, among other reasons, it rhymes with the word\u00a0<em>Fusionn\u00e9e<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This image is from figure studies done in 1985 and a painted image created in 2002.
